How do you define educational equity?

Educational Equity is the willingness to learn ways to support all students in a manner that pushes the adults in the system to unlearn old practices that do not align with current research supporting culturally relevant teaching practices. Furthermore, it places high value on evaluating the policies, practices, and procedures for our most marginalized students to ensure that their educational needs are front and center over the needs of adults in an education system. Educational equity values the input of all community partners and creates opportunities to invite all voices to the table when making decisions that impact the overall well-being of the students who need the most support.
