How do you define educational equity?
Educational equity is the systematic process of addressing the individual needs of students by providing culturally responsive instruction, academic support, community resources, and social emotional learning. We want to be certain that our schools do not function as agents of oppression or systemic inequality. At the heart of educational equity is creating the right conditions for students to have opportunities for growth, while embedding support and resources to help students navigate those opportunities successfully. Simply providing opportunities is not enough.
